Feb 10, Listen to OK Computer on Spotify. Open App. OK Computer. Airbag Radiohead. Paranoid Android Radiohead. Subterranean Homesick Alien Radiohead. Do you like this album? How many of these boxes exist? Where to start with a "review" of one of my favorite albums, and an album that inspired me greatly as a song writer. Well, I guess the place to start would be the sonics of the remaster. The remastering is nice. I can fairly say that the drums are slightly more punchy and distinct, and Collin's Bass is more defined and specific in the mix.
The pressing: my pressing is perfect. There is no noise, ticks or pops. The unreleased songs Not the best tracks, and I can understand why they where held back from release.
The two art books: Honestly, nothing special. I can dig it that Thom is sharing is personal notes, but 20 years later, it provides way less impact then it would have at the time of the albums release. The Tape: This is pretty keen. I enjoyed this glimpse into the studio sessions, but it would have been better with more outtakes of some of the songs we already know and love from the LP.
Over all, I would have been ok with just the three vinyls and the material on the tape pressed on a vinyl rather than a tape. Mine arrived in perfect shape and sounds noticeably better than my blue vinyl Didn't hear a single instance of surface noise on this EU pressing.
The contents of the box are fantastic and worth the price alone in my opinion. Prev 1 2 Next. Shadowredeemer Unfortunately, the copy that I purchased was misprinted very badly to the point that the sound was totally warped and all of the LPs had scuffs and scratches from the factory, so I returned it and didn't bother with another copy assuming that there are some bad batches in circulation. Acrobat I'm amazed that so many people are saying their pressings are amazing.
ME I have this box set, and:The records ain't so hot. Not gonna lie. I can't imagine this sounding any better. Jube I've never heard a better mix of this album and I've heard or own all the significant pressings.
Ochach Same for me. Marg That distortion is actually on the original recording, it's not the problem of the pressing. Dianantrius I reluctantly opened mine this morning yes, I'm one of those guys who likes to keep things sealed. Eseve Nevertheless, when ordered directly, i would contact W. Yramede Pretty sure it's not a fake. These experimental albums marked a departure from the band's standard guitar-driven base layered with complex production effects. Considering the albums in the context of the band's earlier releases, Letts explores the motivations behind this change. Unlike most critics of Radiohead, who focus on the band's lyrics, videos, sociological importance, or audience reception, Letts focuses on the music itself. She investigates Radiohead's ambivalence toward its own success, as manifested in the vanishing subject of Kid A on these two albums.
Are they the Beatles of the twenty-first century, or is their music just pretentious, overly melancholic, and sometimes boring? Musician, pop-culture critic, and playwright Dan Caffrey wasn't always a Radiohead fan, but that all changed one Chicago winter, when he suddenly found their album In Rainbows to be a welcome source of sonic warmth.
Each chapter is devoted to a band member plus their producer and "sixth member" Nigel Godrich, revealing comprehensive biographical details about each person.
